Objective of Job:

  • Assist in planning and implementing production processes for specific technologies in a plant, for existing and new products, in cooperation with the areas of process development, process planning, equipment engineering, logistics, production and quality, with the goal of efficiently industrializing the product.
  • Planning and purchasing series equipment for the plant in cooperation with central equipment engineering, as part of specific industrialization goals and with regard to scheduling, economy, output, quality and ergonomics.
  • Series support of existing production processes, with the goal of achieving trouble-free and efficient production

Principal Activities:

Project work:

  • Cooperate in concept creation based on technology, with regard to operating procedures, tools, equipment/machines and fixtures under the direction of process development and equipment procurement, in order to achieve best results.
  • Cooperate in creating requirement manuals and selecting suppliers, together with equipment engineering, production and purchasing, and taking into account profitability and process reliability to achieve project goals.
  • Cooperate in supplier performance verification in cooperation with equipment engineering and purchasing, taking into consideration the requirements in the requirements manual.
  • Startup and run-in of series equipment and processes, in cooperation with equipment engineering and production.
  • Conduct process parameter set-up and create the appropriate data sheets, taking into consideration the design specifications from process development and complying with specifications regarding quality, function, etc.
  • Determine and review process window (min./max.), taking into consideration the design specifications from process development and complying with specifications regarding quality, function, etc.
  • Validation of processes and characteristics, under consideration of the specifications, using statistical  methods, e.g. MFU, PFU (provisional), DOE
  • In cooperation with Quality, create reference samples, limit samples and other samples for preseries and series production, taking specifications into account.
  • Create work instructions (if necessary in cooperation with the work instructions department) in compliance with standards, with the goal of a clear and well-defined description of the sequence of operations.
  • Training key persons using valid work instructions, in cooperation with production and with the support of pilot line and preseries.
  • Short term maintenance of all necessary documentation (part history of the single process, data sheets, etc) in his/her area of responsibility and archiving it in specified media.
  • Cooperate in conducting the Run at Rate and in process handover, analysis of deviations and the introduction of corrective actions.
  • Conduct and monitor of adjustments and optimizations of existing and new products and processes, in cooperation with production, equipment engineering and quality.
  • Cooperate as a team member in process FMEA's for technology subjects.
  • Determine project risks and report to project leader and line manager.

Series support

  • Review planning and existing production for changes, describe effects, forward the information to change management.
  • Conduct change implementation by order, together with the affected departments, with the goal of maintaining planned costs and schedules.
  • Support production in case of series problems (e.g. scrap, etc) in his/her area of responsibility with analysis, development and implementation of corrective actions, in cooperation with affected departments.
  • Develop and evaluate potential for improvements (costs, quality, throughput times) with regard to increasing efficiency.

Equipment support

  • Place construction approval, delivery approvals for internal and external suppliers, taking into account requirements manuals, in cooperation with production, process engineering and purchasing.
  • Plan and conduct equipment start-up in a production plant in cooperation with process planning, production and process engineering.
  • Training key users using valid information data (work instructions, manuals, etc.) in cooperation with production and support of pilot line and preseries.
  • Conduct equipment approvals and transfers for internal and external suppliers, taking the requirements manual into consideration and in cooperation with production, process engineering and purchasing.
  • Create, maintain and balance equipment schedules with project plans in cooperation with project team.
  • Conduct change implementation in commissioning, together with the affected departments, with the goal of maintaining planned costs and schedules.
  • Organize extensive maintenance and repair of equipment

 

Job Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field

* At least 4 years of experience in engineering (manufacturing)
